Posted on April 11th, 2015

The Perlette is the earliest maturing seedless variety of green grape.  The Perlette is a hardy fruit that maintains well after harvest.  Perlettes are known to produce a yield that is almost double as much as Thompson Seedless.  The Perlettes first came on the scene in the early 1940s.  It is a round, firm green grape with mild and sweet to slightly tart flavor.  Its name means “little pearl” in french which refers to its round, frosted, berry.  The Perlette has moderate heat requirements for growing, and are late blooming and resistant to powdery mildew.
